History

Occupation : Surgeon, MRCS

At sometime between 1861 and 1871 the property now known as Cathedral House and Cathedral Mews St Mary St, Ely was built for Robert by his father John. Robert also ran the Ely dispensary and was the president of the British Medical Association for Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire and East Anglican Branches. Robert was a student of Guys Hospital.

Notes

1. Robert Muriel eldest son of Robert moved to Norwich to live with his uncle Charles Evans Muriel, Surgeon. In the 1901 census Robert had returned to Ely, Cambridge although no profession is listed.

2. Fanny Muriel Bidwell was the daughter of Charles Bidwell
